Christine O'Donnell's win in Delaware's Republican Senate primary handed the Tea Party a valuable victory over the GOP establishment but may also have ceded the Democrats a relatively easy route to victory in November. Polls suggest that Democrat Chris Coons will have a far easier time claiming Joe Biden's old seat against O'Donnell than he would have against Rep. Mike Castle, a 44-year political veteran. Republican leaders freely admitted that they now saw the race as a lost cause, with National Republican Senatorial Committee staffers saying they would divert funds to more competitive races. O'Donnell's case wasn't helped by the emergence last night of a clip from a 1996 MTV show showing the Senate hopeful railing against the perils of masturbation.
