Granny with Gun stops Shakedown

LOWELL, Mass.—Here's a little tenacity for you. An unnamed 79-year-old Massachusetts woman got sick and tired of an annoying man who would shovel her driveway unannounced and expect money. He had beat on her door one too many times recently when she brandished her gun and sent him fleeing. The man would simply shovel the woman's driveway and expect payment without getting advance permission to do the work. When he rapped on the woman's door and demanded money this time around, the lady and her husband refused to pay. And when they ordered him to leave, he banged on the door even more loudly. While the lady homeowner brandished her pistol, she neither pointed it nor fired it. But the gun's mere presence was enough to prompt the man to shovel elsewhere. After police found the man and spoke with him and the couple, no charges were filed by either side.
