Syngenta Pulls GMO Corn off Canadian Shelves

 According to an internal company document obtained by Reuters, biotechnology corporation Syngenta will be removing one of it’s genetically engineered seeds from the Canadian market.

The Agrisure Duracade trait was approved for cultivation in the United States and Canada but not by China or the European Union. Agrisure is designed to repel rootworms in Corn. In a notice to its seed dealers, Syngenta stated, “Some corn may be destined for these markets. Accordingly, we want to ensure the acceptance of any trait technology grown in Canada meets end-market destination requirements.”
