Micro 3D printer smashes Kickstarter goal

• http://www.telegraph.co, Sophie Curtis
A Kickstarter campaign to raise $50,000 for the development of a $200 (£120) 3D printer has smashed its funding target, raising over $1 million.

The 3D printer, known as the Micro, reached its target just 11 minutes after launching on crowd-funding site Kickstarter yesterday. Claiming to be the first 'truly consumer' 3D printer, the Micro comes ready to use out of the box, and can print objects as tall as 4.6 inches.

The Micro supports many different materials, including ABS, PLA, nylon, chameleon, as well as M3D’s micro filament spools or standard 1.75 mm filament spools available on the market. It is compatible with Mac and PC and Linux through a direct USB-connection.
