Stockman Calls for Arrest of Lois Lerner

Lois Lerner, the woman behind the IRS political scandal, could be arrested, according to Texas Representative Steve Stockman. The Republican lawmaker has stated that not even speaker of the House John Boehner can stop the process. Stockman announced on July 11th that he has filed a resolution for Congress to arrest the former IRS executive. Lerner was the director of the Exempt Organizations Unit of the IRS. She admitted in May 2013 her agency targeted opponents of the President. This included preventing conservative and TEA-party groups from being awarded tax-exempt status. Congress has labeled Lerner in contempt of Congress, but has not yet acted on the measure. Boehner himself is suing the President over the use of executive powers related to last-minute changes in the new healthcare law.
