1562 Banks will be gone: Which Banks Will Die?
05-31-2009  •  msnbc.msn.com/
1,562 banks will be gone in the next few years. I heard this startlingly precise number from one of the panel members at the Wall Street Journal Future of Finance Initiative conference -- a meeting which featured a keynote by Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, as well as participation such heavy hitters as George Soros, Meredith Whitney, Robert Shiller, and Paul Volcker. Let's put that prediction in perspective. Since the fall of Bear Stearns, only 61 banks have been taken over by the FDIC. If you believe this presenter, we've only seen 1/25 of the likely banking deaths. Yikes!  Read Full Story

Recession is the Mother of Invention
05-31-2009  •  Just a Girl in Short Shorts
Over half of the companies listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, were formed during a recession or depression. Likewise an astonishing number of products were invented during a recession of depression. These economic periods are truly the mothers of invention. However, this time the federal government is stifling all that innovation and creativity.   Read Full Story

First"a common sense test: You’re dispatched to a house fire in a 2 story with a basement (not balloon construction as pictured). Upon arrival, all 3 floors are well involved. After extinguishment, the neighbor across the street tells you he saw flashes on all 3 floors within seconds of each other. It turns out the owner has arson convictions on his record. You smell gasoline. Now, should you test the debris for accelerants? No matter what the owner and his friends tell you, wouldn’t you still test it? It’s a ―NO-Brainer‖…isn’t it? NOW, HOW WOULD YOU INVESTIGATE? Look at the facts of the WTC, specifically Tower 7, collapses: 1) Terrorists used explosives on WTC 1 in 1993. 2) Over 118 first responders reported hearing explosions before all 3 collapses, many said it sounded like the ―bang-bang-bang‖ you hear during a demolition. 3) We have video, photographic and audio evidence of explosions after the impact and before collapse. 4) Live news was reporting   Read Full Story

REMEMBER NUECES! The next opportunity to stand against corruption is at hand.
05-30-2009  •  Dennis Rodenbeck
Nueces County has become a focus of the corruption that has infiltrated our government down to the local level. We all see it and want to RIGHT the wrong of it. This is a great place for us all to make a stand. We have the evidence for the case and it is blatant. We had to fight in court to achieve information that is by law 'public' (precinct minutes), and won that. We are standing FOR THE PROCESS OF THE RULE OF LAW! We have done a great deal of work for our rights as well as yours and are standing tall on the front lines for your liberty as well as ours. It's fun waving signs and talking ideology, but this is where the battle has the smell of gun smoke and we need a few shoulders to stand with us right now. Win or lose in the short term, the effort to stand up for the rule of law always Wins as it exposes corruption and shines a light of truth. Violating peoples rights at this level is the ultimate degradation of our Constitution. The website will be  Read Full Story

US lab debuts super laser
05-30-2009  SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) " A US weapons lab on Friday pulled back the curtain on a super laser with the power to burn as hot as a star. The National Ignition Facility's main purpose is to serve as a tool for gauging the reliability and safety of the US nuclear weapons arsenal but scientists say it could deliver breakthroughs in safe fusion power. "We have invented the world's largest laser system," actor-turned-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said during a dedication ceremony attended by thousands including state and national officials. "We can create the stars right here on earth. And I can see already my friends in Hollywood being very upset that their stuff that they show on the big screen is obsolete. We have the real stuff right here." NIF is touted as the world's highest-energy laser system. It is located inside the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory about an hour's drive from San Francisco. Equipment connected to a house-sized sph  Read Full Story

America's Freest States
05-30-2009  •  RealClearPolitics
From indelibly American quotations like "Give me liberty or give me death" to the iconic pairing of "liberty and justice" in the Pledge of Allegiance, there's no shortage of examples demonstrating that Americans have historically placed a high value on the concept of freedom. But in a country as large and diverse as the United States, the concept of liberty is sure to have different definitions for different people. More complicating still is the fact that, beyond the overarching liberties defined by the Constitution, individual states have their own legislation to address individual freedoms that aren't explicitly covered in federal doctrine.  Read Full Story

Jekyll Island 2009

When I say, that the trip to Jekyll Island was most awesome, I mean to impart emphasis on the word AWE.... Not for the elite who came before us, but for the men and women who showed the courage to stand together and be counted among the patriots of today. Bob Schulz and “We The People Foundation”, invited G. Edward Griffin and sixty of the most honored and revered men and women in the patriot movement to experience this most inspiring gathering and historical adventure. Many people I spoke with during the invitation process were delighted to have been invited and saw the value in participating in this event. “It is long over due’ said Bernadine Smith, of the Second Amendment Committee. It will take unification and collaboration from all fronts, to achieve the necessary momentum and prevent the complete and total collapse of this nation, momentum necessary to stop the fast tract to Communism and regain our stronghold on freedom. In 1910, men of means, despotic in nature, took the   Read Full Story

Preacher Says he Was Beaten and Tortured by Arizona DPS & Border Patrol Agents
05-30-2009  •  www.salem-news.com
The April 14th 2009 Border Patrol and Arizona police beating of a Baptist Minister named Steven Anderson at a border checkpoint, may stand out as one of the most disgraceful recent examples of police brutality and official breech of authority. The supposedly trustworthy state and federal agents appear to have made a game out of how badly they could beat and physically damage and humiliate a person, and while the man's cameras remain confiscated, it was recorded on tape. There are those stories that sometimes are just so grating, so wrong, that they are like an abomination. As stories of torture at the hands of Americans grab the headlines, we are reminded that abuse of power is the ultimate betrayal of a person's character, and it defines the conduct of an agency. The frenzy to increase border scrutiny near Mexico seems to have tensions unusually high, and perhaps that factors in as one of the reasons this man of God was so completely and ruthlessly beaten and degraded  Read Full Story
