The Libertarian Case For Judicial Activism
07-14-2009  •  Just a Girl in Short Shorts
There is no greater political smear than accusing someone of being an advocate of judicial activism. But the truth is that both conservatives and liberals do not really disfavor judicial activism. What both the left and the right really dislike is the neutral application of constitutional principles when it thwarts their policy goals.  Read Full Story

IMMIGRATION REFORM: CUT THE NUMBERS, CUT THEM FAST
07-14-2009
Frosty Wooldridge
Overwhelming and irrefutable facts show illegal and massive unrestricted immigration harm our country. We face gridlocked and air polluted cities, environmental degradation, crime, health care problems and education nightmares. Massive immigration creates costs too high for American working families.

Prehistoric Monsters in Jungles of Amazon
07-14-2009  •  arclein
The head appeared over bushes ten feet tall. It was about the size of a beer keg and was shaped like that of a tapir, as if the snout was used for pulling things or taking hold of them. The eyes were small and dull and set in like those of an alligator. Despite the half dried mud we could see that the neck, which was very snakelike, only thicker in proportion, as rough knotted like an alligator's sides rather than his back.  Read Full Story

David Paul and the Global Warming Debate
07-14-2009  •  arclein
Comprehensive study by Anthony Watts reveals stunning problems. Eight hundred and fifty-four (854) of the 1221 official climate monitoring stations across the country were surveyed and nearly 90% are not properly sited. Some are located next to buildings and heat-generating electrical equipment. This alone taints the climate record and leads to erroneous warming. Other changes have imparted irregular warming, such as changing the coating on the Stevenson screens, the shelters used to house thermometers, from a whitewash to latex paint in 1979. An experiment by Watts proves the latex-painted shelters are slightly warmer than the whitewashed shelters. And then you have to account for the change in the actual thermometers, from those requiring manual readings to the new electronic version that's been gradually phased in since the mid 1980s.  Read Full Story

Fed Independence or Fed Secrecy? - by Ron Paul Feature Article  •  Federal Reserve
Fed Independence or Fed Secrecy? - by Ron Paul
Powell Gammill
Claims are made that auditing the Fed would compromise its independence.  However, by independence, they really mean secrecy.  The Fed clearly cherishes its vast power to create and spend trillions of dollars, diluting the value of every other dollar in circulation, making deals with other central banks, and bailing out cronies, all to the detriment of the taxpayer, and to the enrichment of themselves.  I am happy to challenge this type of “independence”.
