China cheers, but not too loudly, after bubbly Q2 GDP
07-16-2009  •  Reuters
China looks set to hit its full-year growth target of 8% after a surprisingly strong second quarter notable for a surge in investment driven by powerful fiscal and monetary stimulus.

Annual gross domestic product growth accelerated in the second quarter to 7.9 percent from 6.1 percent in the first quarter, making China the best-performing major economy and reinforcing hopes that the world economy is pulling out of its deepest recession in 80 years.

America immigrated itself out of its identity and into a multicultural and diversity predicament.  As President Teddy Roosevelt said, “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, or preventing it from continuing as a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.”

Headless Chicken For Dinner: Is “Torture” Of Terrorists Approved By Congress “Illegal”?

Let’s not be headless chicken destined for dinner. Monopods should go to the high court to declare Patriot Act, as amended, unconstitutional if “torture” of terrorists by the military is “illegal”, instead of asking for the neck of former president Bush for dinner.

Police chief denounces 'cowardly' iPhone users monitoring speed traps
07-16-2009  •  Washington Examiner

Area drivers looking to outwit police speed traps and traffic cameras are using an iPhone application and other global positioning system devices that pinpoint the location of the cameras.

That has irked D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier, who promised her officers would pick up their game to   counteract the devices, which can also help drivers dodge sobriety checkpoints.

"I think that's the whole point of this program," she told The Examiner. "It's designed to circumvent law enforcement -- law enforcement that is designed specifically to save lives."

The new technology streams to iPhones and global positioning system devices, sounding off an alarm as drivers approach speed or red-light cameras.

Lanier said the technology is a "cowardly tactic" and "people who overly rely on those and break the law anyway are going to get caught" in one way or another.

London Times Censors Mass Opposition to Mandatory Swine Flu Vaccine
07-16-2009  •  PrisonPlanet

The London Times newspaper has apparently censored scores of comments on its own website that expressed vehement opposition to plans by the UK government to implement a mandatory vaccination program for swine flu.

As we reported on Sunday, respondents to a London Times article concerning the fact that the vaccine will be rushed through safety procedures in just five days, increasing the chances of it causing deaths and injuries in the thousands, as happened with the 1977 mass vaccination program in the U.S. which killed more people than the actual swine flu virus, overwhelmingly indicated that they would refuse to take the shot.

At one point, out of the first 50 comments on the article, over 40 expressed opposition to taking the shot and the other handful were merely asking questions about it. Hardly any comments expressed support for the nationwide rollout of the swine flu vaccine.<  Read Full Story
