Seven Lessons Taught in School
07-25-2009
•
John Taylor Gatto
Twenty-six years ago, having nothing better to do at
the time, I tried my hand at school teaching. The license I hold
certifies that I am an instructor of English language and English
literature, but that isn't what I do at all.
I don't teach English, I teach school -- and I win awards doing it.
Teaching means different things in different places, but seven lessons
are universally taught from Harlem to Hollywood Hills.
They constitute a national curriculum you pay for in more ways than you
can imagine, so you might as well know what it is. You are at liberty,
of course, to regard these lessons any way you like, but believe me
when I say I intend no irony in this presentation. These are the things
I teach, these are the things you pay me to teach. Make of them what
you will.
1. CONFUSION
2. CLASS POSITION
3. INDIFFERENCE
4. EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCY
5. INTELLECTUAL DEPENDENCY
6. PROVISIONAL SELF-ESTEEM
7. ONE CAN'T HIDE

Squalene: The Swine Flu Vaccine’s Dirty Little Secret Exposed
07-25-2009
•
Dr. Mercola
According to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, your children should be the first target for mass swine flu vaccinations when school starts this fall.
This is a ridiculous assumption for many reasons, not to mention extremely high risk.

07-25-2009
•
Yvonne Wingett -Arizona Republic
Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon is bringing a representative from the Southern Poverty Law Center to help raise awareness about the presence of the state's hate groups, the Nativist movement and White-supremacist organizations.
The Montgomery, Ala.-based non-profit organization identifies, monitors and investigates hate activity across the
United States.
According to the center, the number of hate groups nationwide has risen 54 percent since 2000, fueled by opposition to non-White immigration, the economic recession and the election of the nation's first black president. the center's director of research, will meet with law-enforcement officials and the media Aug. 12-14.
The mayor also is planning some type of public forum to discuss hate groups, especially anti-immigration extremists.

For months the NFL has been threatening to sue Delaware if the state went ahead with plans for sports betting this fall.
Other leagues have joined Roger Goodell and the NFL in the battle with Delaware.
Friday, the league, which had been pro sports' biggest opponent to Delaware's plans, followed through. And it convinced some powerful friends to join in the fight. In federal court in Wilmington, the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, the NHL and the NCAA filed a complaint to stop Gov. Jack Markell and the Delaware State Lottery Office from taking bets on their games.
Delaware, along with Nevada, Montana and Oregon, is one of four states legally exempt from the 1992 Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA),

DHS plans massive, five-day ‘terrorism prevention’ exercise
07-25-2009
•
RawStory.com
Law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the United States and
abroad are preparing to go on high alert as part of a massive terrorism
prevention exercise " the first of its kind here.
Beginning Monday, security officials at all levels in the United
States and four other countries will scramble into action in the wake
of a fictional terrorist attack somewhere outside the United States.
The scenario envisions the receipt of intelligence that a follow-up
attack is planned inside the United States, forcing agencies inside and
out of the country to test their coordination, intelligence and terror
prevention skills.
The National Level Exercise 2009 “will be the first major exercise
conducted by the United States government that will focus exclusively
on terrorism prevention and protection, as opposed to incident response
and recovery,” the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said in a
statement.

TARP Quarterly Oversight Report
07-24-2009
•
US Government
Did you even know there was such a thing? 262 pages of government productivity that reveals in part:
TARP, as originally envisioned in the
fall of 2008, would have involved the purchase, management, and sale of
up to $700 billion of "toxic" assets, primarily troubled mortgages and
mortgage-backed securities ("MBS"). That framework was soon shelved,
however, and TARP funds are being used, or have been announced to be
used, in connection with 12 separate programs that...involve a total
(including TARP funds, loans and guarantees from other agencies, and
private money) that could reach nearly $3 trillion." The report goes on
to note that TARP is just a small part of the federal government's
overall scheme to bailout the financial system, valued by SIGTARP at
$23.7 trillion.
Through June 30, 2009, SIGTARP has 35 ongoing criminal and civil
investigations. These investigations include complex issues concerning
suspected accounting fraud, securit
