"Japan would never invade the United States. We would find a rifle behind every blade of grass." Isoroku Yamamoto
Isoroku Yamamoto (1884-04-04 – 1943-04-18)
was a Fleet Admiral and Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Japanese
Navy (IJN) during World War II. He was a graduate of the Imperial
Japanese Naval Academy and an alumnus of the U.S. Naval War College and
Harvard University. He died during an inspection tour of forward
positions in the Solomon Islands when his transport aircraft was
ambushed by American P-38 Lightning fighter planes. His death was a
major blow to Japanese military morale during World War II.

??????????????????????. ("Not even god can argue with stupidity") Have you ever noticed that the stupider a human being is, the more satisfied he is with what he knows...? My god - what a stupid idea democracy was!
There is literally no source to back up Yamamoto's quote Major.
Misattributed?
"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

What kind of proof do you want? A note from Yamamoto? A tape recording? The comment was found in the files of Gordon Prange, on General MacArthur's staff, based on witness statements. Obviously, this war time comment would not have been made by the Admiral for general distribution. Nor, for similar reasons, would he put such a remark in writing. It was overheard by several attendees at a meeting with the Admiral. During WWI and for some time, thereafter, the comment was also closely guarded by the U.S. Army as wartime intelligence.
Major, U.S. Army (Ret.)
Yamamoto never said that. Check out wikiquotes.com for source information. Cool quote and quite right, though.
your an idiot. Nothing would happen. If someone wants to get a hold of something, especially a criminal. they will get it. because a lousy worry of an illegal gun wont cross their minds when they want to robb a store or settle some business. no need to smartass, if another country comes here and we have no guns we'll be like every other civilian in every other country, Fending with a butter knife or a lousy bow. sickens me people dont see this country exist because we bared arms. if you want to cower in a corner because of gun owners go to another country.
Well I went out for a few hours today looking behind blades of grass and sure enough, somebody took all the rifles. I could find a single one. Now this guy Iscrewyou Yamamo or whatever his name is, if that really is his name because it sounds like some foreign guy having a joke at our expense, well if he really knew what he was talking about, what we have here is a major shitload of unsecured ordinance. And for once I gotta side with the Homeland Security boys. If these firearms make their way into the hands of Californians, there's no telling what might happen.
