Romney Does Not Rule Out 3rd Party or Independent Presidential Bid

Written by Subject: Politics: Republican Campaigns
With the chatter regarding 3rd party campaigns it turns out there's a possibility of Mitt Romney running rogue.  He has not disspelled this chatter.  What will a Romney independent or 3rd party run mean for the GOP?  For the 2012 campaign?

We should be speculating about the threat of Mitt Romney running as an independent, after Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination. Will he take votes away from Ron Paul? Will he split the Republican base and hand Obama the victory?

Another day, another possibility that Romney will drop out of the GOP primary and run either in a 3rd party like americaelects.com or as an Independent.

Despite repeated inquiries, Romney has NOT ruled out this possibility.

In the recent past, questions have arisen as to whether Romney's GOP opponent Ron Paul might run in a third party bid. Dr. Paul's campaign responded that there is less than a 0.0001% chance of that happening.

In Romney's case, oddmakers place the odds at 0.1% of Romney running third party.

THAT MEANS THAT ROMNEY IS 1000 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO RUN ON A 3RD PARTY TICKET OR AS AN INDEPENDENT THAN DR RON PAUL.
