Iran's Seyed Ali Khamenei Blasts Destabilizing US Regional Policy

by Stephen Lendman

Khamenei addressed what he called US Greater Middle East policy allied with Israel, saying:

"(C)urrent events in the region have revealed what Americans meant by the new Middle-East," addressing Iranian officials in Tehran ahead of February parliamentary elections.

"Their new Middle-East is actually the Middle-East of war, terrorism, prejudice and fanaticism and filled with sectarian and internal conflict," showing Washington ruthless agenda, he explained.

Earlier he said evil US regional policies "resulted in war, bloodshed, destruction and displacement as well as poverty, backwardness and sectarian and religious rifts…"

"Zionist…crimes…reached the utmost degree of cruelty…its repeated insult to the sanctuary of al-Aqsa mosque and trampling (on) the lives and properties of the oppressed Palestinians…"

He called endless violence, instability and human suffering in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Palestine major Muslim world problems. Regional regimes allied with Washington and NATO partners ill-serve the needs of their own people - conditions today worse than ever.

Separately, Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari vowed to prevent Iraqi and Syrian disintegration.

"We will defuse the scenario for disintegrating Iraq and Syria which is a Zionist-US plot," he stressed.

His comments followed Israeli justice minister Aylet ("little snakes") Shaked expressing support for an independent Kurdish state between Turkey, Israel and Iraq - supporting Israel, weakening its regional rivals.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Netanyahu said Israel needs more military aid following the Iranian nuclear deal. He lied, claiming unfreezing Iranian assets frees funds for spreading terrorism in Israel and regionally.

Last November, he reportedly requested $5 billion annually in US aid for the next decade, when the current $3.1 billion annual arrangement plus additional amounts on request expires in 2017 - a new $50 billion package consisting almost entirely of the latest US weapons and technology.

Perhaps he intends asking for what he has in mind implemented as soon as possible. Maybe he wants current aid doubled.

US citizens have no idea how their tax dollars are misused - largely for endless imperial wars,  corporate handouts, militarizing America more than ever, as well as supporting Israel's killing machine and other rogue states.

US/Israeli business as usual persists. One rogue state supports another.
