Obama Campaigns for Clinton in Rutgers Address

by Stephen Lendman

Obama used his Sunday Rutgers University commencement address to tout his deplorable record, a reason to support Clinton without saying so, and bash Trump without naming him.

His trademark demagoguery and Big Lies are featured in all his addresses.

"You and your fellow graduates are entering the job market with better prospects than any time since 2007," he blustered.

False! One-fourth of working age America can't find jobs. Most others have rotten low-pay, poor-or-no-benefit service ones. Half of US households are impoverished or bordering it.

"Since I graduated in 1983, crime rates (and) share of Americans living in poverty (are) down."

False! America's prison population is the world's largest. Most in it are Blacks and Latinos for drug-related or minor nonviolent offenses. Poverty is a growth industry, America under Obama transformed into a third world nation.

"The share of Americans with college educations has gone way up," Obama claimed. Most degrees don't prepare youths for today's deplorable job market with far fewer opportunities than decades earlier.

They require becoming debt entrapped, a longterm intolerable burden, a shocking indictment of an unjust system.

Millions "more Americans know the financial security of health insurance," according to Obama. Healthcare is commodified. Getting it depends on the ability to pay. In America, it's double the cost of other developed countries, making increasingly expensive care unaffordable for millions.

Obama's claim about the nation and world now better than when he graduated in the 1980s is polar opposite truth. Endless wars rage at home and abroad, the risk of WW III perhaps never greater.

Democracy is pure fantasy in Western societies and most others, tyranny increasingly replacing it. Obama's tenure reflects a great leap backwards, building on the horrors of his predecessor, a prelude of worse to come when he leaves.

Saying "(t)he world is more interconnected than ever before, (and its) biggest challenges…cannot be solved in isolation" falsely implied a Trump presidency would operate this way.

On the one hand, he said "engagement does not mean deploying our military." On the other, he claimed "(t)here are times where we must take military action to protect ourselves and our allies."

Fact: America's only enemies are ones it invents. It wages endless wars of aggression against nonbelligerent states.

Fact: The so-called war on terrorism is a complete hoax. ISIS and other terrorist groups are US creations, used as imperial foot soldiers.

Fact: War on Islam rages, millions slaughtered post-9/11. Humanity is more threatened now than any previous time in history.

Obama's tenure ends in January. High US crimes against peace will continue no matter who succeeds him.
