Trump Regime's No-Peace/Peace Plan

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The 1917 Balfour Declaration marked the beginning of the end of historic Palestine in a 67-word letter, changing the course of history.

It consigned fundamental Palestinian rights to its dustbin. Generations of political, military and cultural repression of its people followed.

Balfour's call for establishing a nation for Jews was prelude for creating it on stolen Palestinian land.

Endless conflict, occupation, dispossession, and repression, along with social and cultural fragmentation define conditions for beleaguered Palestinians – over 100 years of suffering, no end of it in prospect, the world community dismissive of their rights.

Promised respect for their fundamental rights never happened. Things are worse than ever with Trump and Netanyahu regime hardliners colluding against them.

On Thursday at the UN Security Council, Trump's Zionist ideologue envoy for international negotiations Jason Greenblatt faced off against Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riad Malki.

Both officials discussed Trump's one-sided deal of the century/no-peace/peace plan. Its terms call for unconditional Palestinian surrender from what's known so far, a deal no responsible Palestinian leader would accept.

Days earlier, Palestinian UN envoy Riyad Mansour called the plan a land grab, a scheme unrelated to conflict resolution, a pretext for Israel to steal all parts of Judea and Samaria not under its control, prelude to annexing Israeli settlements and other land in the Territories Israel controls or covets.

Greenblatt reinvented Israeli history, ignoring the Nakba and endless Nuremberg-level high crimes following its creation.

He lied calling the Jewish state democratic, treating Jews one way, Palestinians another, persecuting its Arabs citizens, terrorizing Occupied Palestinians — what can't be papered over no matter how hard Zionist ideologues try.

He lied calling Hamas and Islamic Jihad "terrorist groups," ignoring institutionalized Israeli state terrorism, a nation run by Arab-hating fascists, collectively punishing the entire Palestinian population, two million Gazans harmed most.

According to Greenblatt and likeminded Zionist ideologues, Palestinians are guilty of Israeli crimes committed against them — a longstanding blame the victim mentality throughout Jewish state history, the world community largely turning a blind eye to its high crimes.

Greenblatt turned truth on its head, claiming the Trump and Netanyahu regimes aim to "bring peace and prosperity to the Palestinians" — notions the US and Israel abhor.

He lied saying Trump's no-peace/peace plan aims to accomplish the above objectives. Noting the plan "require(s) compromises from both sides" is code language for Palestinian sacrifices so Israel can benefit.

According to information about Trump's deal of the century, reportedly leaked to Israel's foreign ministry, published by the Hebrew-language Yisrael Hayom broadsheet, if the PLO or Hamas reject it, the Trump regime will impose stiff penalties.

It'll assure "no country in the world transfers money" to the Palestinians, not the US or any others. It gets worse.

If Hamas and Islamic Jihad reject terms the PLO accepts, the Trump regime "will back Israel to personally harm (their) leaders" — during future IDF aggression on the Strip.

The plan calls for a demilitarized "New Palestine," Jerusalem as a shared capital under Israeli control, annexation of settlements and other Palestinian territory. It's a scheme to be rejected, not accepted.

During Wednesday's Security Council session, Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riad Malki categorically rejected what he called "not a peace plan, but rather conditions for surrender," adding:

When Trump illegally recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital "in blatant violation of international law," it showed it's "not possible to have faith" in his self-styled "deal of the century" — one-sidedly serving Israeli interests at the expense of fundamental Palestinian rights.

"Every decision the US (regime) has taken since has simply confirmed its disregard for Palestinian lives, for (the) rights" of its people, he stressed.

Trump's one-sided "deal of the century" is one of countless examples — dead before arrival.
