Russian Foreign Ministry on US Biowarfare, Lebanon, and Nuking Japan

Russian Foreign Ministry's information and press department deputy director Alexey Zaytsev (AZ below) commented on US biowarfare, saying the following:

In cahoots with its imperial allies, Washington's "military biological activities…raise serious concerns in the context of the implementation of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC)."

The Pentagon has been modernizing its so-called biolabs in former Soviet republics.

What's going on unacceptably may be all about waging future biowarfare on Russia and allied countries.

Moscow called for international actions to counter bio-threats posed by the US and its imperial partners, AZ adding:

"We will vigorously use the relevant multilateral platforms to coordinate our efforts to ensure biological safety" — what's essential to counter the threat of US biowarfare.

"To resolve any issues related to the US military's biological activities along the perimeter of Russia's borders, we deem it necessary to activate the mechanism under Article V of the BTWC."

The US under both right wings of its war party poses an unparalleled threat to world peace and humanity's survival.

Commenting on devastation caused by a massive August 4 explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, AZ said Russia is providing "emergency humanitarian aid" to the nation's people, including search-and-rescue equipment and personnel to operate it — along with "an airmobile hospital…and mobile PCR laboratory."

Separately, Hezbollah leader Sayed Hassan Nasrallah denounced fabricated accusations of its involvement in what happened as "outrageous," adding:

"Hezbollah has never had any activity, no warehouse and no role or control over what goes on in the port. This slanders constitutes an incitement to civil war."

"An impartial investigation must identify and severely punish all the culprits, and break with the traditional sectarianism of the judicial system which judges people according to their political and religious affiliation."

"Without a fair and transparent trial and full accountability, Lebanon will always be a failed State."

On Thursday, Sergey Lavrov commented on the 75th anniversary of gratuitous US nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki after imperial Japan was defeated and offered to surrender unconditionally other than asking to retain its emperor.

"To this day, the terrible death of innocent civilians strikes a chord with millions of people on our planet," said Lavrov, adding:

"(I)t is hard to fully understand what the masterminds and perpetrators of such an inhumane act were guided by."

Soviet Russian officials were among the first foreign observers of vast destruction and carnage in both cities.

Their assessment of "the consequences of nuclear explosions" was presented to the world community.

"An impartial analysis of what happened in August 1945 confirms that the world's leading capitals could not but realize that World War II was" effectively over when both cities were gratuitously nuked.

"(A)tomic bombings by the United States were in fact a show of force and an operational test of nuclear weapons on civilians."

"The United States was the first and only country to use this type of weapons of mass destruction."

It remains unaccountable for the heinous high crime of war — and countless others throughout the post-WW II period worldwide, including what's now ongoing in multiple theaters.

Lavrov stressed that the Russian Federation "pursues a policy of peace and non-confrontation in international affairs."

The US, NATO, and Israeli policies are polar opposite, waging permanent wars in pursuit of their hostile to peace imperial agendas.

Lavrov noted "with great concern the degradation of the international arms control system, denunciation of treaties, disregard of the principles of undiminished security of states, and a significant increase in nuclear risks" — especially by the US.

"There has been an alarming shift in doctrinal military and political policies towards the idea that it is acceptable to employ nuclear weapons as a means of warfare."

Because of the enormous threat posed by today's thermonukes, Russia supports and stresses the importance of world community observance of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty principles.

Moscow "unwaveringly support(s) constructive dialogue with all political forces and social movements advocating the nuclear threat reduction."

"We must join our efforts to ensure that the terror and pain of Hiroshima and Nagasaki will never repeat."

US rage for unchallenged global dominance risks something far worse than what happened on August 6 and 9, 1945.

The dawn of the nuclear age ushered in an unprecedented threat to humanity's survival.
