OK, now you’ve seen the size of the problem that Congress is
wrestling with this week. But what can we, and our elected Reps, do
about this, to prevent a future recurrence?

Well, here’s an idea from Warren Buffett (July 24th on
CNBC):

“I could end the deficit in five minutes. You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than three percent of GDP all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for reelection."

OK so yeah, uh, TOTALLY NOT. Look, we all know white people have a knack for quantifying things, you guys are really good at it but you have to understand the rest of us not only have no utility for such numbers but it actually threatens our health to try to apprehend them. The pulse quickens the pupils dilate, the electrochemical response produces almost immediate diaphoresis, intracranial pressures exceed specified limits and you just bought us 6 months of recuperative therapy with your big numbers. MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION. MYO=HEART, OF SAME.

One day you will come up with a number so large that the zeros, if put side by side, would encircle the planet Earth and on that day I'll simply ask what font-point.
