BORG is an acronym, coined by Bob Podolsky
It stands for the three institutions that we usually expect to solve humanities societal problems:
Business specifically Big Business and Banks big enough to influence legislation,
Organized
Religion, and
Government
The BORG is a PARASITE and like all parasites it is destined to eventually destroy the host. Who is the host? We are! There has never been a societal problem that the BORG actually solved. Yet most of us keep expecting these institutions to improve our lives. This is unrealistic, as you will understand when you understand their true nature.
The BORG is the root cause of the most serious problems that humanity faces. It perpetuates these problems by perpetuating the mechanism that we call the MATRIX.

Boondoggle and white elephants
Boondoggle and white elephants
Edited by
Thomas Costanzo
A boondoggle is a project that wastes time and money. The term arose from a 1935 New York Times article that claimed over $3 million had been spent on recreational activities for the jobless as part of the New Deal. Among these activities were crafts classes, where the production of "boon doggles" (described in the article as various utilitarian "gadgets" made with cloth or leather) was taught. The term's earlier definition is thought to have its origin in scouting, particularly in reference to a woggle.
other variations are white elephant is an idiom for a valuable possession of which its owner cannot dispose and whose cost (particularly cost of upkeep) is out of proportion to its usefulness or worth. Because the animals were considered sacred and laws protected them from labor, receiving a gift of a white elephant from a monarch was simultaneously both a blessing and a curse: a blessing because the animal was sacred and a sign of the monarch's favor, and a curse because the animal had to be retained and could not be put to much practical use, at least to offset the cost of maintaining it.

Boycotts
Boycott
Edited by
Thomas Costanzo
A boycott is a form of consumer activism involving the act of voluntarily abstaining from using, buying, or dealing with a person, organization, or country as an expression of protest, usually for political reasons.
A boycott is normally considered a one-time affair designed to correct an outstanding single wrong. When extended for a long period of time, or as part of an overall program of awareness-raising or reforms to laws or regimes, a boycott is part of moral purchasing, and those economic or political terms are to be preferred.
Most organized consumer boycotts today are focused on long-term change of buying habits, and so fit into part of a larger political program, with many techniques that require a longer structural commitment, e.g. reform to commodity markets, or government commitment to moral purchasing.
Boycotts are now much easier to successfully initiate due to the Internet. Other words included: blackball, blacklist, embargo and to withhold patronage
