Testing of Papyrus That Refers To Jesus’s Wife Shows No Evidence Of Forgery
04-11-2014  •  Jonathan Turley
If you recall, there was a bit of a dust up 18 months ago when Harvard Professor Karen L. King released the “Gospel of Jesus’s Wife” that detailed the contents of the text of an ancient Egyptian papyrus referring to Jesus being married.

What's the big deal? There's a place in Hebrews in the New Testament that says, "For we do nothave a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin." Since Jesus was tempted in every way that we are, He MUST have been married, His wife MUST have been an adultress, and she almost certainly died. All this was so that He could be tempted in every way just like the rest of us. Yet He was without sin.

Consider, the Bible talks about a Boy of about 12, and the next time we hear of Him, He is a man of about 30. There is a lot of time in there to get married, have kids, and the whole thing fall apart. So, what's the big deal?

And don't tell me something like, "If that were the case, how could this and that and the other have happened?" What are you going to do? Try to figure out salvation on your own? Or are you going to simply believe what it says, "... who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin."

The Roman Catholic Church would rather base Jesus life on something that they call piety, but is really a works righteousness deal, when we should be accepting salvation by Jesus. They don't want their little scheme to fail, because they would loose control of the world and all that wealth.

People are smart way down deep. They understand what the Church is doing. That's why the people are falling away from the Church in droves, in places like Spain, Italy, and Portugal... places where the Church has historically been the strongest.

Besides, people didn't generally write science fiction back then, because their thinking wasn't in that direction. But they might have sold a lot of books on a subject as popular as Jesus.
