1.  You do not need to be a member of the Libertarian Party to run for office as a Libertarian candidate.   The National LP has nothing to do with candidates in respective states.  Nothing!

2.  In Arizona, the state chair/ LP has no say in who can run on the primary as a Libertarian candidate courtesy of the NLP shenanigans of tossing us to the state.  We even had to sue to prevent non-registered Libertarians from voting in the taxpayer funded elections to decide our party leadership (US 9th Circuit Appeals).  Thank you NLP for tossing us to the tender mercies of the state!

3.  If you wish to add your name to their database as a Libertarian candidate that is your business.

4.  If you wish to secure the blessing, endorsement, etc. of the State, County or City LP that is your business...though a political party should not give preference of one candidate over another in a primary...that is for the registered Libertarian voters to decide.  But in a non-partisan or General election it is alright.

5. The State/County/City LP should assist you in how to get the government's blessing (paperwork) in running for office.  Contact them now because there are deadlines, filing fees and signature requirements that vary greatly from government to government
