The day that the state of Israel was proclaimed, May 15, 1948, Egyptian Arab League secy.-gen. #1 (1945-52) Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzam Pasha (1893-1976) proclaimed "This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre", after which all the Arab nations surrounding Israel attacked and tried to do just that.  Too bad, the brave Jews defeated them and have been militarily superior ever since.
