I wonder who's going to profit from this? Will Concordia's removal protect the island? Will the scrap metal be worth enough to cover the costs of scrapping her? Will the removal increase tourism? Were the valuables in the safes worth that much? Was there some secret cargo aboard that they can retrieve, now? Certainly finding the two lost bodies isn't worth it to anyone except friends and family. Why not just drag her further out and let her sink to the bottom? Answers may be listed on the Internet somewhere. But on the face of it, it seems a big waste of money.
