Supreme Court bans warrantless cell phone searches, updates privacy laws
• Washington TimesThe Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that police cannot go snooping through people's cell phones without a warrant, in a unanimous decision that amounts to a major statement in favor of privacy rights.
OK this is a pretty big deal but all nine pirates have smartphones so don't think they are doing it for you. Since activists love using the cameraphone to record encounters with cops and cops love to say stupid shit like, "It might have been a gun!," "I was a feared....," "We are seizing that as evidence," others? Can you tell them to go get a warrant signed by a judge? Absolutely and you should. Cops have no right to seize your shit absent evidence you will destroy it and that of course you were actually recording a crime rather than an encounter or arrest.
