I can see the bureaucratic fix for this: Simply cancel the test as soon as the guilty plea is accepted. Have the victim, I mean perp, sign an affidavit swearing those are drugs, forfeiting the property and the evidence can be destroyed. The state never makes a mistake.

I am sure this is already the policy of almost every other criminal justice jurisdiction in the US. You guys are behind the times and it bit you in the ass.
