I hope Mr Paul is wrong and that conservatives will not allow the debt limit to be raised. The poorest of this nation will be hurt beyond our imagination if spending isn't brought under control. Ron is correct, here is a chance to self impose a restriction, later the dynamics of reality will impose it much harsher. I hear people acting like children as they scream about what they want...and that is what it is, their wants. There is plenty of revenue coming to this goverment to pay its interest and take care of our obligations to those who must have help.
