Well, actually, this isn't really much of anything. Why not?

The number of different strains of yeast (fungus) that can be cultured (if someone decided to do it) are virtually infinite. Strains can be developed that are healthy for people to eat, developed to taste almost exactly like any food, developed to grow on almost any substance under almost any conditions including being grown on bare rock.

In other words, there never really has been and never will be any shortage of food, as long as there is material for yeast to be grown on.

Well hell then it's likely to be safer and more nutritious than the meat currently sold in the supermarkets.  Where can I get some?
