The Monthly Humanitarian Monitor | May 2011
May 2011 witnessed the highest number of Palestinians injured in demonstrations commemorating An Nakba day since March 2010. Two developments occurred in terms of access of goods and people into the Gaza Strip, including: the opening of a new facility at Kerem Shalom, which allowed a resumption of entry of aggregates; and the official opening of Rafah Crossing after it was closed for nearly four years. This report also includes: the uncertainty of residency rights in the oPt; and food assistance programmes to be suspended due to funding shortfalls.
