Eric Brakey
Senator Eric Brakey represents people of District 20 in the Maine State Senate. In 2014, Senator Brakey received a majority of votes in all five municipalities in the district, making him the only Republican challenger to win a majority in the City of Auburn since Olympia Snowe’s 1976 State Senate race.
Elected at the age of 26, Senator Brakey is the youngest state senator in the nation. He serves as the Chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee, where he is an outspoken advocate for welfare reform. He is best known for the passage of his recent Constitutional Carry legislation, which will allow law-abiding citizens to carry a concealed handgun without a permit.
In 2012, Eric Brakey served as the State Director for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign, and was elected as a Maine delegate to the Republican National Convention.
