Don Imus: 09/11/01 & 12/15/12

Yesterday, I caught a glimpse of a Fox Business channel program at which time a Foxy (no pun intended) female anchor was trying to goad a male guest into being excited about the usual business trivial drivel.  He said he was sorry, but with the news coming out of Connecticut today, he simply could not "get in the mood."

If memory serves, on September 11, 2001, Don Imus maintained his usual broadcast format after every other program had gone to continuous coverage.  Gist wise he said, "They're killin' us.  If I break stride, they win."

He took some heat for that.

The Best of Imus is broadcast in the early morning hours on Saturdays.  Today, I tuned in only to find Fox and Fiends [sic] (what Imus calls Fox and Friends) going on about the shooting in Connecticut.  I thought I had dialed up the wrong channel.

I double checked.  Sure enough, I had dialed up the right channel number.  A quick look at the Fox "News" channel revealed that the same program was being simulcast on both channels.  Imus had indeed been pre-empted.

Is Fox "News" going soft on us?!
