Author/speaker and former sheriff Richard Mack has served in a wide variety of roles over the course of his nearly twenty year career in law enforcement, which began in Provo, Utah.

Mack began his career with the Provo Police Department as a parking enforcement cadet while attending BYU. A couple of years later he became a full-time officer and was soon promoted to Corporal, Sergeant, and Detective. His most traumatic experience there was a one-year assignment as an undercover narcotics agent. After nearly 11 years at Provo PD, Mack decided to return to his childhood turf in Arizona and run for Graham County Sheriff. His campaign took off and he was elected in 1988.

He was sheriff for two terms until 1997. He was named Elected Official of the Year by the Arizona-New Mexico Coalition of Counties in 1994, received the NRA Law Officer of the Year, inducted into the NRA Hall of Fame, 1995 Cicero Award, Samuel Adams Leadership Award from the Local Sovereignty Coalition, and Gun Owners of America Defender of the Second Amendment Award.

During his tenure, federal officers informed the sheriffs of the state that they would be required to enforce the so-called "Brady Bill" and run background checks at their expense under the law. In 1994, Mack and six other sheriffs from across the country, challenged the constitutionality of the Brady Billand ultimately, fought it all the way to the United States Supreme Court, where they won a monumental decision for freedom.

Three years later, in a landmark 5-4 split decision based on the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, Mack won his case.A graduate of the FBI National Academy, some of Mack's positions include: patrol officer, undercover narcotics officer, hostage negotiator, youth officer, school resource officer, communications supervisor, corporal, front desk sergeant, detective, sheriff, Search and Rescue supervisor, jail administrator, and DARE instructor.

Mack has been a consultant on numerous cases regarding police abuse, brutality, and other misconduct by public officials. He has joined with other members of the law enforcement community to speak out in favor of drug policy reform.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Mack lives with his wife in Fredericksburg, Texas.

During the past two years Sheriff Mack has been a speaker at more than 70 different Tea Party rallies all across the country, ranging all the way from Honolulu to Bangor, Maine. Mack has supported this noble movement, because it is both effective and peaceful.

Please see the 'Speaking Engagements' page for a list of many of the Tea Party and other events that Sheriff Mack has spoken at in recent years.

Are You A David - Front Cover thumbnail 250w

About the Book:

Our federal government has reached a zenith of corruption, abuse, greed, deceit and debt. Criminals in government parade around as heroes while attacking Americans via the IRS, FBI, BLM, EPA and a legion of other unconstitutional agencies. Property rights are non-existent, gun owners are treated as terrorists, our substance is plundered and the police state is consuming our society.

The people of America want to know; is there a solution? YES. But it will not be found anywhere near Washington DC!

There is someone who has the moral, legal, and constitutional responsibility to protect us from the crimes of our own government:

You, the patriotic, freedom-loving citizen. You, the local peace officer or police chief. You, the elected representative of the people. You, the county sheriff. You must stand with faith, with the humility of a shepherd boy and the strength of a warrior, as David did against Goliath.

Are you a David?

In this sequel to the extremely popular "The County Sheriff: America's Last Hope" Sheriff Mack explains how not just sheriffs, but every public official, peace officer and citizen can stand in the cause of Liberty.  A portion of this book is dedicated to giving history and a firsthand account of the recent BLM seige on the Bundy Ranch in Nevada.

HERE IS MORE INFORMATION ON THE TOPICS DISCUSSED...

1. Bill to put more troops along the Russian border to beef up NATO:

S.2277 - Russian Aggression Prevention Act of 2014
Introduced in Senate (05/01/2014)

Russian Aggression Prevention Act of 2014 - Directs the Secretary of Defense (DOD) to submit to Congress a strategic framework for U.S. security assistance and cooperation in Europe and Eurasia.

Directs the President to: (1) halt for 180-days all current and planned redeployments of combat forces from Europe other than certain redeployments, and (2) develop a plan to correct any deficiencies in the Armed Forces' ability to respond to contingencies in Europe and Eurasia.

Expresses the sense of Congress that: (1) the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) represents the most successful collective security agreement of the modern era, and (2) a strong NATO is critical to maintaining peace in Europe and Eurasia and ensuring that the Russian Federation plays an appropriate role in the region.

Directs the President to: (1) implement a plan for increasing U.S. and NATO support for the armed forces of Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia, and other NATO member-states; and (2) direct the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO to seek consideration for permanently basing NATO forces in such countries.

2. French Mistral Amphibious Assault Ships Still On Track for Delivery to Russia

In August 2009, Russian media reported that their country was planning to take a radical step, and buy a French BPC-210 Mistral Class external link amphibious assault ship (BPC/LHD) by the end of 2009. The outlet quoted the Chief of the Russian General Staff, Gen. Nikolai Makarov, who said that: "We are negotiating the purchase of one ship at present, and later planning to acquire 3-4 ships [of the same class] to be jointly built in Russia." That plan eventually came true, with a contract for 2 ships, and a possible follow-on for 2 more.

France currently operates 3 Mistral Class LHDs, after buying a 3rd using economic stimulus funds. Unlike other LHD designs, the Mistral Class can't operate fixed wing aircraft, and some observers in Russia and elsewhere classify at as an LHA. Regardless, it's an important tool of power projection. Mistral Class ships can carry and deploy up to 16 helicopters, including attack helicopters like France's Tiger or Russia's Ka-50/52. Their main punch revolves around 4 landing barges or 2 medium hovercraft, however, which deliver armored vehicles, tanks, and soldiers to shore. Vessels of this class are equipped with a 69-bed hospital, and could be used as amphibious command ships. Russia wants that kind of versatility ? even as her neighbors fear it.

3. U.S. imposes record fine on BNP in sanctions warning to banks

(Reuters) - French bank BNP Paribas BNPP.PA has pleaded guilty to two criminal charges and agreed to pay almost $9 billion to resolve accusations it violated U.S. sanctions against Sudan, Cuba and Iran, a severe punishment aimed at sending a clear message to other financial institutions around the world.

The guilty plea is the direct consequence of a broader U.S. Justice Department shift in strategy that is expected to try to snare more major banks for possible money laundering or sanctions violations.

In an unprecedented move, regulators banned BNP for a year from conducting certain U.S. dollar transactions, a critical part of the bank's global business, in addition to the fine which was a record for violating American sanctions.
