Aquaponics Explained....

Endless Food Systems uses a unique process called Aquaponics.  It is the combination of Aquaculture (raising fish) with Hydroponics (growing plants without soil).  The fish produce waste which is then pumped up into the grow bed where the plants are.  The plants use up the fish waste as it is a perfect food for them and the water is returned to the fish tank now purified.  There are several bacteria processes that take place and if you would like more details, please go to the page called Technical Info.

Chad is feeding the world and having a global impact on hunger by 'teaching people to fish'...

Chad Hudspeth's Fundraising Page (on the Freedom's Phoenix Marketplace)

I have the opportunity to go to Peru this April and lead a team in building an aquaponics system. We will be teaching the local people and then demonstrating how to assemble a sustainable food system. I believe it is much more powerful to teach a person how to feed themself than to give them a handout. We have had wonderful success in Ecuador last year and want to help spread this technique to Peru. I have been designing and manufacturing aquaponic kits for the past 3 years. It is a revolutionary way to grow food and it is especially important in countries where food is very expensive for the less fortunate. We will be working in Trujillo, Peru with a local pastor and his church and a few other missionaries. Most of the work will be in the barrios of the city where the majority of the population there live on less than $300 a month and that is for a household of 5-10.

I hope you will join with me financially to bring them hope and a more sustainable way to grow their own food. The money raised is going to pay for airfare and equipment to build these systems. Thank you for your support!

ABOUT Team Peru 2015

A Generous Life will have a team traveling to the barrios of Trujillo, Peru. Trujillo is a city in coastal northwestern Peru. The team will be delivering and setting up some water filtration systems. The team will also be a part of the team helping to build an Aquaponics System in one of the barrios there.

Our partners on the ground are working in six barrios (small communities) around the city, each with a population of around 1,000 – 1,200 people in each barrio. These barrios are mostly populated by women and children. Their population consists of about 4 women to every one man, and the women typically have 4 – 5 children each. The families survive on less than $300 a month and that's for a family of 5 – 10 people.
