With current advances in desalination, and extraction, systems, I don't understand why the State of California isn't actively implementing the widespread deployment of these systems to bring abundant cleanwater to these farms, and through-out the state to consumers. My group has access
to these systems, and would be willing to dialog with any people in California who can pressure the State decision makers to get off their butts and do something constructive for a change, in order to end shortages of precious freshwater the farms need.
