Massachusetts Takes a Step Back From Health Care for All

• NY Times
The new state budget in Massachusetts eliminates health care coverage for some 30,000 legal immigrants to help close a growing deficit, reversing progress toward universal coverage just as Congress looks to the state as a model for overhauling the nation’s health care system.

Logic would indicate that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS would be first on the agenda not the people that are here legally? Am I missing something?

If this is the model for overhauling the nation's health care system, we might as well just kill ourselves now and save them the trouble!

Very nice. Massashesetts can mandate small employers to provide coverage for employees but the state is free to pick and choose which of it's committments it will keep. Ah yes, and to cover the shortfall we'll just further tax the rich.

As business flees Masachusetts, NY, CT and all these socialist utopias by the day, they crank up taxes on their remaining businesses. Brilliant strategy.
