When I first read this, I could have sworn it said "a shit in authority... ."  Ha ha!  Wouldn't that be fitting?

Back on topic, this is not surprising coming - as it does - from the minds that brought us 9/11, the Patriot Act, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc. etc. etc.  What this effectively does is pave the way for a coup - something that I still can't understand why Bush didn't pull - but since Obama is more of the same, who knows, he may try it.  Now, the interesting possibility here is that the military, on command from the corporations that run it, can take over in the event of another man-made disaster such as 9/11.  There's plenty in place for this to be easily done.
