Arizona sheriff conducts migrant sweeps despite curb
• ReutersMaricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio dispatched deputies on a two-day "crime suppression" operation in the western Phoenix valley on Friday, stopping and arresting at least eight people for minor offenses who could not prove that they were in Arizona legally.
Arpaio, whose sweeps have led to allegations of racial profiling, said he is carrying out the operations under Arizona state laws targeting smugglers and another federal law he says allows him to detain illegal immigrants.
"Nothing has changed," Arpaio said while overseeing the operation in a suburb northwest of Phoenix. "We're still going to be doing what we've been doing tonight and during the last two and a half years. I don't take orders from anyone."

Gotta love it: the illegal about to kick imitationJoe's ass has a Ghandi t-shirt on. This is as close to non-violent peaceful co-existence as illegals get. I'm sure there's no harm intended, just another pocketbook loosening demand to expand socialism by the noncitizens that already get it anyway.
Buck NortonBye bye, Joe. Whom the Gods would destroy, first they make mad.
This might prove to be interesting.
Many folks approve of what this sheriff does, in general... while many other people disapprove.
Here's why this is so important! This will test the authority that a sheriff has to resist Federal mandates that are unConstitutitonal.
If the Federal Government ultimately does not have the authority to resist a sheriff inside his county, that means that the sheriff has the authority to resist the IRS inside his county. That means, no more income taxes, if the sheriff will only resist the IRS.
