Officer found in contempt of court in document case

• Arizona Republic

The officer was ordered by a judge to hold a press conference to apologize for his actions - an order that Sheriff Joe Arpaio immediately said would be defied.

“My officer was doing his job and I will not stand by and allow him to be thrown to the wolves by the courts because they feel pressure from the media on this situation,” Arpaio said in a press release. He further said, "I decide who holds press conferences and when they are held regarding this Sheriff’s Office.”

Gee Joe, I'm glad to see you're sticking up for one of your officers.  Now, please extend the same courtesy to your constituents.

Judges think they are  gods, and are drunk with power. I am glad to see someone tell them they do not rule the world

Sheriff Joe is completly insane! While I like a few of his policies I detest the vast majority of them, including dehumanizing inmates and the malnourishment of  inmates. He is a lose cannon.

BOTH should have been fired - and should feel lucky that is all they would face.

As for the 'press conference' remark, Joe 'The Joke' is right.
