Hackers steal electronic data from top climate research center

• Wendy McElroy

Hackers broke into the electronic files of one of the world's foremost climate research centers this week and posted an array of e-mails in which prominent scientists engaged in a blunt discussion of global warming research and disparaged climate-change skeptics.

The skeptics have seized upon e-mails stolen from the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in Britain as evidence that scientific data have been rigged to make it appear as if humans are causing global warming. The researchers, however, say the e-mails have been taken out of context and merely reflect an honest exchange of ideas.

[I changed the Washington Post story to McElroy's blog because she had a lot better background:

Ok, from my understanding with my horribly under educated brain, is that c02 emmitions are the problem, right? Perhaps we should stop cutting down all the f-ing trees. I know it sound's crazy right.

The coincidences are uncanny.  My first thought was the ol' " propaganda 2-step shuffle".  That's where you pay a fake group of 'deniers' to 'break" -in to your own facility, 'looking for' evidence that will diminish the credibility of your own position.

Then, the 'stolen' "evidence" is aired publicly.  But in the end, it's clear, there's not much there that's actually bad...it was, after all, 'taken out of context'.

Then comes the 'twist', the REST of the stolen "evidence" comes out publicly, and it "proves" YOU were right along.  You come out stronger in the public perspective.  And, of course--You have a plan as to how people must live...to save the planet.

 It's a thing of beauty.

The 'Enviroshlists' don't like hearing the Libertarian solution to our poor planet's enviro-ills because it takes all the fun out of the game for them--they like to play with the nuances.  The solution?  Simple:  No entity (including govt) may pollute the common atmosphere, waterways or soil--beyond their property limits.  Period.  Simple stuff.

They want to control people, not pollution.

Hey, I wonder if the term "Enviroshlists" will catch on?

There's absolutely nothing suspicious about this.  Lemme see, why wouldn't I believe that a whole bunch of climate change deniers, Rapture seeker whackjobs, acting illegally to fulfill a self-gratifying agenda hacked into these computers and by the grace of their god hit the jackpot of e-mails proving that global warming in a hoax!

Son, didn't your momma ever teach you that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is?
