LETTER: Civil disobedience needed to save U.S.

DON SEARLES, Mattoon I and more than half of the American people are fed up with the Obama administration and Congress turning our nation into the bankrupt Socialist States of America. We are fed up with out of control government spending, pork barrel earmarks, bailouts, government-run health care, illegal immigration, cap and trade, trying enemy combatants in New York, failure to take strong action against terrorism and the list could go on and on. The Tea Party movement is a good start, but it has not stopped Obama and Congress from destroying our country. My wife and I attended Tea Parties in Champaign, Charleston and the Washington, D.C., Tea Party. These were good places to vent our anger, but they did nothing to stop Obama and Congress. They ridiculed us and called us anti-American trouble makers. We must take the Tea Parties to the next level. We must shut down the repressive operations of the federal government.
