Tea Party Disputes Take Toll on Convention

• NY Times
“We are very concerned about the appearance of T.P.N. profiteering and exploitation of the grass-roots movement,” he said in a statement. “We were under the impression that T.P.N. was a nonprofit organization like N.P.A., interested only in uniting and educating Tea Party activists on how to make a real difference in the political arena.”

Shoot I dont even care.  If all I have to do is slap on a Tea Party sticker on to conduct my ops under, that's all I need the tea party for.  It's the most brilliant cover of all time!  Who the hell cares about their convention?

You couldn't pay *me* $500 to listen to Sarah Palin babble, but generally for-profit isn't a dirty word for libertarians last I checked. We don't expect money to come out of nowhere and food and lodging to be provided by magical communist elves.

This just in----

It's circulating now that TPN didn't ultimately blow off JBS & C4L. It may be that communications aren't monolithic in TPN, so people might be getting conflicting signals. I'm not sure what the truth is in this "JBS/C4L" story but this issue has become emblematic of the whole fight for the heart and soul of the R3VOlUTION (NOT the GOP).

Meanwhile, FoxNews did in fact pick up on the story:

So there's no sweeping this under the carpet of unity ever again. We're actually going to have to resolve this one.

My tactic from here will be broadening the focus. There's no sense in beating up Judson Phillips or his wife at this point. I don't think the guy is going to be a major player after this. But the point isn't about Judson. It's about making all neocons take a good, hard look in the mirror and a real evaluation of where we stand and making an informed and mature decision: is this really where they want to stand or would they much rather resume their raping of our economic landscape?

Why preytell were the nutjobbers arguing over?  What brand of tea to toss in the river or which guns to buy at Wal Mart?

Think beyond the surface.  The tea party movement is the best thing that has EVER happened to ron paul activists next to ron paul himself.  Get beyond thinking how to get "the man" and think about how to help yourself for a sec.  Just for a sec.

(digs toe in ground) so I don't suppose I'm in for a lambasting from the "unity for success" crowd for any of this? Sorry guys, had to be done. The straw that broke this camel's back was them denying C4L and JBS table space. That and their defector's stories snowballed on the forums. Right along with the 50% or so who already knew it was a co-op. Shebang.

So we found our unity by protecting our identity. So now it's out in the open in a big way. I hope it sends the signal clearly to all RINOs that we're not so easy to get OUT of bed with once having got in.

Rhetorically speaking that is.

Well I guess this kind of draws the line in the sand. Very kind of the NYT to do all this heavy lifting for us. I wonder if and how folks at FoxNews will react?

Our little internal war has grown up and gone MSM on us. Tears and weeping all around.
