Police Abduction by Quota

• Lew Rockwell
A few months ago, Zebulun and Elijah Colbourne were among five New York City teenagers arrested and held overnight in jail in order to fill an official quota. The citation claimed that the teenagers, who had been racing in the sidewalks, were engaged in “tumultuous and violent conduct that caused public alarm.” They were given a summons, handcuffed, and held in a cell before being released the next morning without further action.

A bottom-line thought about this...

Internet organized talk groups of local citizens (many citizens can't make it to meetings) might be the way to campaign the bad-policy makers out of office.

On the other hand, maybe the police policies of arresting innocent folks protect the people from criminals.

The question is: Which needs more protecting, people's freedom, or people's life, limb and property?

Since police seem to need to arrest non-offending folks and kids to find the criminals, maybe New York should enact ordinance that requires people to carry guns when they are off their private property, so they can do the things that the police can't seem to do... get rid of the criminals in a right way.
