The video sadly fails to take into account the looming threat of Islamic supremacy with Muslim immigrants, but yes, when it comes to our next-door neighbors in Mexico, they're quite assimilable, albeit they inhabit the lower rungs of the economic ladder. What's really sad is that Mexico remains a backward undeveloped territory with an incurably corrupt nearly-criminal govt. that keeps the rich on top of the poor, causing neverending mass 1-way migrations despite all obstacles put in their way. Why not dissolve Mexico's govt. and annex it so that it can finally be developed as a U.S. sector, with a New California, New Arizona, New Texas, New Florida etc.? We can do it by military force, but that would alienate the Mexican people. Instead, let's try just asking them with a bipartisan Congressional invitation, in exchange for full citizenship along with Marshall Plan type aid to create the necessary infrastructure to encourage mass southward migration, resulting in vibrant new economic zones with millions of new jobs for all 414 million Americans? I refuse to believe that the answer for government mistakes is MORE government! They aren't enforcing their "laws", so people, even Dr. Paul, are falling into a statist lie of expecting the government to actually do something CORRECTLY.
I love Dr. Paul, but he always says "let the states decide", which if you follow the CONstitution is a fair response... but when governments are instituted among men and derive their just powers therefrom, who gave them the right to violate my rights? It just doesn't make sense. People might say "you are a citizen, you have to submit some rights"... I say "what is a citizen?" , aTo me citizen is a person living in a geographical area that submit to a government for protection. The government seems to agree with me (see People v. Herkimer). The government does not protect us and in fact does not HAVE to protect us. We have NO EXPECTATION of security from our government (see Castle Rock v. Gonzales)... therefore, there are NO CITIZENS, there is NO STATE, there are NO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.
I'm not convinced that, absent the modern socialist welfare state, immigration wouldn't be effectively self-limiting. Immigration, both legal and illegal, has fallen drastically since collapse of the most recent FED-created bubble.
Furthermore, on the available evidence I'm hardly persuaded that contemporary native-born Americans have "grown up in freedom" or understand it any better than immigrants from Mexico, India, or the former Soviet Union. It's incontestably true that government- and foundation-funded collectivists have used the post-65 immigration policy to cultivate a huge constituency, but once again that's a welfare state issue.
At the end of this diatribe of innuendo, half truths and outright lies you have the opportunity to see, again, Dr. Paul making the case for bringing the troops home and securing the border. He understands. Legal immigration is limited for a reason. A society cannot absorb an astounding amount of people from a different culture (10% now and still climbing) without a catastrophic change to itself. Apparently that is the intention of a great number of people from policy makers to those advocating more illegals to invade.
People who have not grown up in liberty are not going to come to this country and advance the cause of liberty. They're socialists and communists - they see a free lifestyle in the country that actually was the workers paradise. They mean to tear it down.
30 to 40 Americans a day are killed by the hand of illegal immigrants. Our government's response? Not enough.
