Iran sanctions - another Bush-like unilateral act of preemptive war


Remember when Dr. Hans Blix assured us that there were no WMDs in Iraq and the UN said they wouldn’t authorize an invasion? But we did anyway? Remember the UN was proven absolutely right and we were proven dead wrong? Well, now we have the IAEA openly laughing at the notion that Iran could threaten us with nukes and the UN once again refuses to endorse even our sanctions. Hold your nose for the next genocide, except this one could go global.

When the UN refused to agree to the severe sanctions that the U.S. wanted, Obama responded with typical Bush flair and went solo. The new U.S. sanctions against Iran — signed into law by Obama on July 1st — are an unmistakable act of war.

If fully enforced, Iran’s economy will be potentially destroyed. The New York Times outlines the central parts of the sanctions:
