Military War Gaming ‘Large Scale Economic Breakdown’ and ‘Civil Unrest’

• LewRockwell.com

If we've "prevented economic collapse" and "avoided the depression many feared," according to President Obama, inquiring minds are asking why the Pentagon and US Military are actively and aggressively engaged in planning responsive action to large scale economic breakdown and civil unrest scenarios: Ever since the crash of 2008 the defense intelligence establishment has really been paying a lot of attention to global markets and how they can serve as a threat to U.S. national security interests. At one upcoming seminar next month they're taking a look at a lot of the issues. source: see CNBC video report below According to the report, the Army has spent time on financial market trading floors with JP Morgan and others, in the hopes that they can learn more about how a financial and economic attack may occur, and what the ramifications of such attacks on US stocks and bonds may be. The Army, in a year-long war games series called Unified Quest 2011, is looking at a variety of possibilities and how to deal with them, including: the implications of "large scale economic breakdown" inside of the United States how to maintain "domestic order amid civil unrest" and ways to deal with fragmented global power and drastically lower budgets

Unfortunately, it's a situation of our own making. History shows that the establishment will do whatever necessary to preserve itself at the public's expense. If you really want to know how the system works in the back room, buy a game of Monopoly. This Christmas don't forget to remember your local banker and real estate broker. The ship started leaking badly during the Reagan administration. It now has a hole in it and is sinking. Life boats are being released, but there's little room for the public. If you try and hang on to one, don't be surprised if you get your fingers smashed.

Civil unrest, social breakdown, seeing global markets as an extension of military power....gee we thought we might get away with martial law domestically but it looks like the boys are going public on global military domination. What a bummer for escapist expats. We knew it was gonna suck. Now it's gonna suck universally.

The stage is nicely set. The big producer corporations are ready to keep things going no matter what happens to the "economy". It's their military-industrial complex too. They all need the oil, they all need the protection. These are the ingredients of success to them.

Now what if we just gave them some encouragement? Fact is, they are supra-national already, they are surpa-duper-nationalistic-expialedocious. They don't really need us, that's clear, but what if we just go along with it if they just leave? Just leave us the 50 states and you guys go do what you want? Think they might just go for it?

Not in our great wisdom, no. "There are those who just want to be left alone and there are those who just won't leave them alone". So it's with a certain Kissingerian fatality that we have made our plans in advance, knowing that conflict not of our doing is in the cards.
