After Dozens of Deaths, Drop-Side Cribs Outlawed

• AP
It's the end of the traditional crib that has cradled millions of babies for generations.

The government outlawed drop-side cribs on Wednesday after the deaths of more than 30 infants and toddlers in the past decade and millions of recalls.

How about the free market addressing this issue? Get rid of the Unconstituional and tyranical Consumer Product Safety Commission for starters.

If the parent of one of the injured kids wanted to do something constructive they should have used their settlement money to start a private free market version of the Consumer Product Safety Commission and let the consumer and the product liability insurance companies sort things out.

"It was a unanimous vote by the Consumer Product Safety Commission to ban the manufacture, sale and resale of the cribs,"

What does this mean? That the tyrants send you to jail if you sell a crib at a garage sale?    Any Rand was right. They will not be happy until we are all criminals.

Let's outlaw sharks and lightning next, because by this logic they are vastly more dangerous than cribs *eyeroll*. Oh and don't leave out pillows, far more infants have died of suffocation on pillows than on cribs, let's ban pillows too. And blankets, those are also a suffocation risk. You know what, fuck it, let's just put every person in a padded cage, because safety is the ultimate value.
