Ruling looms on trash issue going to ballot

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge this week will rule on whether Fountain Hills voters can decide in May if they want the town to switch to a single hauler for residential-trash pickup.

A lawsuit was filed by Kathy Koultourides, a Fountain Hills resident and employee of Republic Services, the parent company of Allied Waste....

Which led to the local people taking out a petition:
Fountain Hills Citizens for Responsive Government
Fountain Hills Tea Party
 
And quickly succeeding, resulting in the council being forced to put it on an already scheduled May 17 special election.  And they then dropped the issue that the  special election had been called for--gee I wonder who they didn't want voting on that?
 
And now a suit to stop the Right of the People to Petition, to Recall = The People are Servants.

It is nice to see that this political cartoon I collaborated on 6 years ago ius still getting some use. Only the idea and wordage was my contribution, the excellent Brazilian artist Latuff did all of the artwork, but was very gracious none the less to place my name first - or at all on this cartoon.
