Inspector General Refuses to Investigate Bioweapons Cover-up

• OpEdNews.com
The Inspector General for the United States Department of Justice has declined to investigate false and misleading statements made by a DOJ employee concerning domestic legislation which appears to violate an international bioweapons treaty. The focus of concern is a particular caveat at the end of 817, which states that "(c)Whoever knowingly violates this section shall be fined as provided in this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both, but the prohibition contained in this section shall not apply with respect to any duly authorized United States governmental activity." This release from the prohibitions could be seen to substantially violate both the letter and intent of The BWC, which was enacted to prohibit the development and stockpiling of biological weapons.
