Massive 35-pound book has 500 original Star Wars blueprints in it

• dvice.com

Once in a while, George Lucas and co. will release some really epic Star Wars gear, like these clothes by Adidas or that 3,000-brick Lego Star Destroyer. As long as the gear is proportionate in size to the epic-ness of Star Wars, it's welcome.

Take this new book, Star Wars: The Blueprints. It's 35 pounds, has 500 original blueprints from the movies, from star ships to droids to architectural landscapes, The Blueprints has it all, so long as you have at least $500 to buy a copy.

It still amazes us how incredibly vast the the Star Wars world is. George Lucas didn't just create a few miniatures and sets back when he was working hard in the '70s, he created an entire universe.

There's tons of in-depth Star Wars books that detail the making of its sound, design, costumes, etc. but I don't think any book will be able topple this one for a while.

The Blueprints will be limited to 5,000 hand-numbered English copies. The first 125 copies will be signed by the three remaining Academy-Award winners for the original Star Wars movie, Norman Reynolds, Les Dilley and Roger Christian and will sell for $1,000. Copies No. 126-5,000 will cost $500.

Do you think we could use this to build  a star-ship, force Barry Soetoro and congress onto it and send them far far away? :-)
