The Slovakian PM Is About To Commit The Ultimate Act Of Sacrifice In Order To Save The Euro

Having failed so far to cobble up enough votes in order to approve the expansion to the EFSF, Slovakian PM Iveta Radicova is about to commit the ultimate personal act of sacrifice.

According to Dow Jones' Katie Martin, Radicova has promised that if the first vote on expanding the EFSF fails, she will hold a second vote that links an EFSF expansion to a vote of confidence on her government.

The idea: She can get more votes for the expansion, and pass the EFSF vote, provided she's willing to offer up her head, and risk sacrificing her political career.

It's a huge act of selflessness on behalf of such a messed up system.

The first voting should be held in a few hours, but it could be an interesting day. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, markets are nervously selling off ahead of the action.
