APNewsBreak: Feds say Arpaio violated civil rights
• news.yahoo.comPHOENIX (AP) — The federal government issued a scathing report Thursday that outlines how Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office has committed a wide range of civil rights violations against Latinos, including a pattern of racial profiling and discrimination and carrying out heavy-handed immigration patrols based on racially charged citizen complaints.
The report, obtained by The Associated Press ahead of its release, is a result of the U.S. Justice Department's three-year investigation of Arpaio's office amid complaints of racial profiling and a culture of bias at the agency's top level.
The Justice Department's conclusions in the civil probe mark the federal government's harshest rebuke of a national political fixture who has risen to prominence for his immigration crackdowns and became coveted endorsement among candidates in the GOP presidential field.
Apart from the civil rights probe, a federal grand jury also has been investigating Arpaio's office on criminal abuse-of-power allegations since at least December 2009 and is specifically examining the investigative work of the sheriff's anti-public corruption squad.

Surprised? I think not...
It's been a long time coming. I can't remember exactly when this misfit became the media darling of the phony law enforcement community in the United States; but, I do remember feeling just a little bit ill each time I saw another pandering news story explaining how this freak was the answer to America's penal system.
It's little wonder this social-engineering fascist was so popular: He fits the profile, perfectly. I knew more about law enforcement as a Boy Scout than this wannabe even dreams of knowing. He has been a perfect shill for an out of control criminal justice system, since day one. I'm surprised that anyone has bothered to question his ignorance and malfeasance - especially, at this late date.
I'd suggest that everyone get over the touchy-feely Latino-oriented compalints and concentrate on the overall abuse of human and civil rights of (undoubtedly) just about every person who ever had the misfortune to be subjected to this fools pretense to power and legal or law enforcement "expertise".
Given the location (Arizona), it's not very likely that this pervert will be in any way brought to task. If anyone even pursues what are probably numerous legal and ethical violations, it will be astounding. Where the hell was thegovernment, years ago. Where have the state cops, the State Attorney General, and the various governors been? (By the way, what charges are pending that include these legal malefactors?)
This report is from the same Justice Dept. that found no fault with the New Black Panthers intimidating voters at polling places.
Arpaio is a mega-mouth buffoon with a sick and twisted mind who should not be wearing a badge or carrying a gun - and he should be removed from office - BUT - this report is putrid.
