Denver cop fired for driving drunk at 143 mph wants job back

• Denver Post

A Denver police officer fired for driving 88 mph above the speed limit while intoxicated has appealed his dismissal, arguing that the penalty is unfair and overly harsh.

Derrick Curtis Saunders, who had previously been cleared of charges he pointed a gun at a McDonald's employee in 2009, was arrested for speeding and DUI by the Colorado State Patrol.

Good! Couldn't have happened to a more deserving asshole!

I've known a number of Denver cops, and this misfit, thankfully, isn't one of them. There are some dedicated and highly competent officers on the Denver PD; but, by the very nature of this freak's counter-claim, it's more than obvioous that he isn't one of them and couldn't care less about the damage he might do to the those who aren't smug, self-annointed, criminals and drunks.

Someone should give the Trooper a medal! As for the judge:  Way to go!!!
