Gas prices sink Obama’s ratings on economy, bring parity to race for White House

03-12-2012  •  http://www.washingtonpost.com, By Dan Balz and Jon

Disapproval of President Obama’s handling of the economy is heading higher — alongside gasoline prices — as a record number of Americans now give the president “strongly” negative reviews on the 2012 presidential campaign’s most important issue, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Increasingly pessimistic views of Obama’s performance on the economy — and on the federal budget deficit — come despite a steadily brightening employment picture and other signs of economic improvement, and they highlight the political sensitivity of rising gas prices.

The potential political consequences are clear, with the rising public disapproval reversing some of the gains the president had made in hypothetical general-election matchups against possible Republican rivals for the White House. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former senator Rick Santorum (Pa.) now both run about evenly with Obama. The findings come just five weeks after Obama appeared to be getting a boost from the improving economy.

Its an election year, so watch for the prices to make a decrease by something done from Washington letting president O take the credit, for the brownie points, and then just right after the election for those lowered prices to climb right back up there to where they are now and to go past what we are seeing. One of the reasons for those prices to go much, much higher, is a war with Iran. All of this talk about the president 'asking' that guy from Israel to not attack Iran until after the election shows us again that he wants to be president again for those four more years, but he is willing to go along with those lies coming out of Israel about Iran, and it shows he does not want to be on the wrong side of the people until after he has his foot in office again for those four more years. We all do know that election voting machines can be used to fix a vote towards a certain candidate, but even those people that do that fixing knows that if the public is opposed to O at that time of voting, it would be very difficult for them to rig the election machines for his favor if his public rating is skimming the rocks. Vote Ron Paul. Any other choice is going to doom this nation furthering down that road to destruction then what we have already witnessed.
